CF Support Sessions

4.png

CF Support Sessions provide a compassionate, virtual space where members of the cystic fibrosis community can come together to share experiences, find encouragement, and build meaningful connections. These monthly gatherings are designed to support emotional well-being through peer connection and professional guidance, ensuring no one in the CF community feels alone.

Beyond the Horizon is our Grief Group that provides gentle and guided support for individuals and families in the cystic fibrosis community who have experienced loss. This monthly, virtual support group is co-facilitated by a licensed mental health professional and a trusted CF community member, creating a safe and empathetic environment to share, mourn, and honor memories.
Participants explore grief through structured discussion topics—such as coping with anniversaries, honoring loved ones, and building resilience—while receiving peer encouragement and professional guidance. These sessions are free of cost and affirm the Piper’s Angels Foundation’s mission to uplift and strengthen the CF community.

Who can participate?

CF Support Sessions are open to anyone in the cystic fibrosis community who connects with the purpose of a specific group. This includes people living with CF, parents, siblings, spouses, caregivers, and loved ones. Whether you’re seeking peer connection, navigating the challenges of fatherhood, looking for a men’s space, or finding support after loss, there’s a circle designed for you.

Is there a cost?

No. All CF Support Sessions are free of charge to ensure accessibility for everyone in the CF community.

How do I join?

Participation is by application to ensure a safe environment. Interested members fill out a short form, and our team follows up with next steps.

When and where are meetings?

Each session meets once a month in a virtual format via Zoom. Participants receive reminders after registering. Some sessions may also offer optional in-person gatherings or special events during the year.

Do I have to share?

No. Sharing is always optional. Many participants simply attend to listen and feel supported. Each person is welcome at their own comfort level.

Who leads the sessions?

Each session is co-facilitated by a licensed mental health professional and a trusted member of the CF community. This ensures a balance of professional guidance and lived experience in every circle.

Are these therapy?

CF Support Sessions are peer support groups—not formal therapy. While they are facilitated by a mental health professional, they are not a replacement for individual counseling or crisis services. If you need specialized care, we can connect you with additional resources.

Is what I say kept private?

Yes. Confidentiality is essential to all CF Support Sessions. Participants agree not to share names, stories, or personal details outside of the group. No sessions are ever recorded, and everyone commits to maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
